All guests of (CLL) PHN-LCKN are invited to visit MoMA’s new contemporary exhibition, Out of Time, during the event.
Out of Time presents contemporary art from The Museum of Modern Art’s collection in groupings that explore the theme of duration. Experiencing time has inflected the production of art of the last three decades in several ways, and the works selected in this exhibition investigate three principal aspects of our contemporary experience of temporality:
- X the cinematic perception and recording of “real time” and its impact on other forms of art;
- X the projection of an inner dimension of time articulated through fantasy and dreams;
- X and a construction of time that is based on memory and history.
This installation includes works in a variety of media, from video, photography, painting, sculpture, and works on paper, to large-scale installations. Out of Time features a number of significant recent acquisitions that have not been exhibited previously, including major works by Martin Creed, Rineke Dijkstra, Mona Hatoum, Luc Tuymans, and Bill Viola.
The exhibition was organized by Joachim Pissarro, Curator, Department of Paining and Sculpture, and Eva Respini, Assistant Curator, Department of Photography and co-host of (CLL) PHN-LCKN, in consultation with Luis Enrique Pérez-Oramas, Adjunct Curator, Department of Drawings.
For more information on the exhibition visit the MoMA Exhibition Page. To see it first hand, register for (CLL) PHN-LCKN.
