With some school, LPNs can become RNs
January 17, 2010 on 3:09 pm | By admin | In Health | Comments OffAs much as some people don’t want to admit it, there is a glass ceiling in most fields of work that prevents many people from moving up the ladder. It’s not because of any shortcoming that the employees may have; it’s just that some people have a combination of skills, drive, and luck that get them where they want to be in life. The rest of the workforce is stuck below the glass, looking up for some crumbs off the big people’s table.
I can’t think of an established industry where this is not true. Thinka about finance: if you don’t have your degree and plenty of work experience, you are out of luck. Try as you might, you won’t get as high as that one guy with the nice suit and the corner office.
How about healthcare? If you don’t have an M.D. from a good school and lots of experience, you won’t make it up there? But is that true in all of healthcare? I think not, and I’m about to prove why.
Let’s say you are an LPN, slaving away over IVs and bedpans all day. Well wouldn’t you like to know if you could break through and get that coveted RN position? You bet you would. Luckily, there are lpn to rn programs that train you for just that thing. You might want to start doing cartwheels fo joy right now. I repeat, if you are an LPN, you do not have to work under the mistaken assumption that you will never become an RN. It just takes a little schooling, that’s all.
