Sun Protective Clothing
January 24, 2010 on 11:08 am | By admin | In Health | Comments OffIt’s a well known fact that the more time you spend in the sun with your skin exposed, you are more likely to become dehydrated and your skin dries out and you get more wrinkles. Nobody wants this to happen to them, and if they have a profession that requires them to spend a lot of time outside, they can’t really help it. If you are one of these people, sun protective clothing is exactly what you need to keep your skin free from UV Rays that will damage your skin and can eventually give you cancer.
Currently, the Ayana Shop only makes sun protective clothing for women, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t or won’t branch out. Their clothing is made with a UV protecting fabric that keeps moisture away from your skin so that you will stay cool all day while out on the beach, or having a business lunch on a patio. unlike some other companies that claim UV protecting clothing, this line has a UVA and UVB blocking zinc oxide that is woven into the fabric so that your sun protective clothing will protect you longer than a shirt or pair of pants that are only treated on the surface of the fabric.
Sunscreen can only go so far to keep your skin from being damaged while in the sun. While it is always a good idea to use sunscreen when outside, you have to reapply multiple times a day, which is a huge inconvenience and sometimes even a hassle if you are not in a good place to stop and do that. Most summer clothing is very thin and leaves much of the skin exposed, leaving you with a greater chance of getting burned. The lighter colors of clothing also lets in more harmful UV rays than clothing of a darker color. Most summer weight clothing only blocks as much sun as a sunscreen with SPF 5. You may as well go out in nothing! If you live in an area that is known for it’s sunshine, sun protective clothing is the best option for keeping your skin healthy and safe.
