Just one hundred years ago if a person was lucky enough to live till the ripe old age of 55, this was considered a good achievement. Nowadays for someone to pass away during their 50’s it is unfortunate. We are lucky enough to be living through an era of huge progressions in medical science; a lot of the diseases that were once incurable and lead to death are now treatable. We have the knowledge and means to develop new vaccines and even cures for these new illnesses constantly appearing.    This desire for a longer life has led many people in the past to search for the legendary fountain of youth, these days it is scientists in laboratories discovering and creating new anti-aging supplements and therapies. Though, centuries before botox shots and human growth hormone injections, well known Spanish explorer ‘Ponce de Leon’ is known to have gone in search of the secret to eternal life, but all he found was Florida. Some scientists believe that it is the strength of our genes that determines the length of our life; others believe that by taking care of our bodies we are guaranteed to add a few extra years to the end of it. Instead of seeking a guaranteed end all cure for your aging worries, it may be better to enhance and maintain what you already have. Imagine you are lucky enough to be born with particularly strong genes that guarantee you a long life; but you choose to live an unhealthy life style, you will inevitably shorten your life span. We have the tools to extend our lives through good habits, eating well and exercising often. In addition taking anti-aging supplements would also help.
