Using N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine to Combat Stress

N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine improves the production of certain neurotransmitters that enable the body to cope better with stress. It does not have much effect under normal conditions when normal neurotransmitter levels are sufficient to enable the brain to handle normal daily activities including normal stresses and exercise.  However, during periods of depression or the unusually high stressful conditions caused by situations such as sleep deprivation, fatigue or any other forms of environmental stress such as excessive cold, the normal quota of catecholamine neurotransmitters is insufficient.

A supplement of L-tyrosine in the acylated form enables it to be rapidly absorbed into the blood and cross the blood-brain barrier to generate more catecholamines and increase the concentration of these neurotransmitters. It can also be used to reduce temporary increases in blood pressure due to increased stress levels, but not chronic hypertension.

N-acetyl-L-tyrosine also stimulates the production of melanin, and can be used to help restore pigmentation of the skin in vitiligo cases, and may also improve hair coloration. L-tyrosine is used by athletes to maintain performance during periods of stress caused by the above conditions, and to sustain periods of physical activity such as anaerobic strength exercises.

If you wnt to help combat stress, then this wonderful amino acid is for you.  N-acetyl-L-Tyrosine is an inexpensive supplement to boost your mental and physical performance.  Look for this wonderful neurotransmitter supplement at your local or internet health food store in capsule and tablet forms.  Always choose name brands of n-acetyl-l-tyrosine such as Source naturals to ensure quality and purity of the product you purchase for consumption.
