The Telomerase Enzyme: What is it and How it Might Help You

There are all sorts of treatments out there that are supposed to help keep people looking and feeling younger. Nobody wants to get older, so the anti-aging business is very big right now. One of the newest types of supplements that is being sold for this purpose is the telomerase enzyme.

Recent studies have shown that as we get older, the telomeres, which are located at the tips of a cell’s DNA, get shorter and shorter with each copy of the DNA produced to replicate a cell. Over time this is said to cause many of the effects of aging that people would like to avoid since eventually there are no more active telomeres so the cell dies. The theory is that by taking the telomerase enzyme you can replace some of the bits on the end of the cell’s DNA so that the cell continues to live and reproduce.

There are now a number of different anti-aging supplements that use this enzyme in their products. However, it is important to keep in mind that there have yet to be any human studies that prove that this theory is true. Animal studies are not feasible since only humans have telemeres, so until there are actual clinical studies that show that telomerase enzyme actually does make you look younger and improve the length of life of your cells, there is no proof that these products actually work. As with any supplement, you should check with your doctor before you start to take these supplements.

If you check out the product reviews for this Reneuve supplement, you will find that a number of people claim that they have been helped by the supplement, and that they now look and feel a lot younger than they did before starting to take these products. It is possible that taking the telomerase enzyme supplements will actually help you, although there isn’t enough research yet to truly say that this is the case. However, many people are jumping on the bandwagon and giving them a try without waiting for further information since everyone wants to stay young for as long as possible.
