When you’re working out at the gym, your main focus may or may not be feeling the burn but ultimately you want to look good. Looking good and feeling good is what working out is about. Sometimes looking good in certain areas doesn’t have to take weeks to show. To get the more immediate effect of looking good now, here are a few makeup tips for your next gym workout.

1. Remember that you’re probably going to sweat so less makeup is more in this case. You definitely don’t want to cake on the makeup especially if you have oily or sensitive skin. Those preexisting factors coupled with the sweat from the workout and the fact that you may not get to wash your face right away could lead to some skin problems such as breakouts. 2. A primer or mattifier is a must. You should only skip this if you have dry skin. And even with dry skin the mattifier can be applied to just the T-zone. The purpose of this product is to reduce the shine. If foundation is to be worn, the mattifier should be applied first. 3. Forgo the foundation and use a sunless tanner or tinted moisturizer instead. The mattifier can be used in conjunction with both of these products. 4. If mascara, eyeliner, or shadow is to be worn, opt for waterproof. Avoid these products during a more intense workout, but for a mild to moderate one, these should be fine.

Knowing good makeup tips for the gym can help you feel your best as you continue working towards being your best self.
