Car Dealers Luck

You have looked on line for a car that you think you will like.  Through a dealer cooperative, you have been able to see the car in person that you found on line.  You have driven it, had it checked by your mechanic, and now you are ready to make a deal.  The first consideration is your old vehicle.  Are you going to trade it in?  Many car dealers are anxious to get used cars to fill their stock.  It is advised that before you take that car in for a trade in offer, you do a thorough cleaning of the car.  The better your car looks, and the better condition it is in, the more likely you will get a higher price for the car.  If the Car Dealers have to do a lot of work to clean up and repair the car, the price goes down.

If your trade in car is in good condition, you may be able to have some ability to do some negotiations with the price of the car you are purchasing.  It never hurts to ask.  For example if you are wanting to purchase a nearly new car, and you have a 2003 Ford Focus, the Blue Book on that car would probably be 3500 pounds.  You are not going to get that much, but the dealer will start by offering you 1000 pounds, and you can maybe get 2000 pounds since you are buying  a nearly new car.  Then the dealer will take your 2003 Focus and sell it for 4000 pounds.

Financing the purchase is something else to consider.  The dealer will have some finance arrangements that can be offered to you.  Some are very reasonable, and some have a little higher interest than you might want to pay.  You might want to check with your own finance institution to see what you might be able to get and at what interest rate.  You may get a better deal that way, or you may not.  Your personal credit rating depends on a personal loan from your own financial institution.

The key is to take the time to make sure you are getting the best deal with payment plans that you can meet.  To be fair to your car dealers, you don’t want to take too long, or they have the right to sell the vehicle to someone else.  Good luck.
