Botox & Dysport In Canada
March 2, 2010 on 12:10 pm | By admin | In Health and Fitness | Comments OffHave you ever woken up and felt like you had aged fifty years overnight? We’ve all had that rude wake-up call from time to time, and that’s why many have turned to wrinkle-fighting treatments.
Although one of the most popular methods, Botox, is known and loved by many, there are new treatments available as well.
I’m in Canada where they import Botox from Allergan in Ireland.
I’ve personally used both Botox and Dysport and am writing to share my experiences. While from afar, both of these products may seem similar, the truth is they have some drastic differences.
Because I’ve tested both products, I have noticed these experiences, fist-hand. The first time I used Botox, I was instantly scared of the injection process. The idea of a needle being inserted under my skin made me nervous.
However, this is something both Dysport and Botox have in common. The contents of the injection momentarily paralyze facial muscles. Consequently, lines and creases are visibly decreased. Basically, the lines that are removed are ones which appear as a result of facial expressions.
One difference with the injection process, though, is that the injection of Dysport hurts less than that of Botox. Another difference I noticed in using Dysport instead of Botox was that my immune response had decreased. Basically what this means is that, after using Botox for quite some time, my immune system had built up antibodies. Switching to Dysport was like starting fresh. I also noticed my results with Dysport much faster than I used Botox.
Upon asking my doctor about this, he told me it’s a heavily debated topic. However, I feel Dysport is a better quality for the money one pays (especially because its prices seem to be cheaper in general than those of Botox). Additionally, in my area I was unable to find medical spas who offered Botox treatments. I’ve noticed, though, that Dysport is available in more locations. It’s more convenient for me.
Overall, I’d say Dysport is a clear choice for me. However, one should explore both options in order to make an informed decision.
